Dean and Naomi Byers established Byers Butterflake Bakery in 1968, after Dean had been honorably discharged from USMC.
Dean grew up in a baking family under the direction of Wayne and Emma Byers, who operated Byers Pastries, Columbia, Pa.
Naomi grew up on the Diffenderfer family farm in Silver Springs, Pa. She credits her parents for her work ethic
and her strong commitment to her faith.
