Dean and Naomi Byers established Byers Butterflake Bakery in 1968 after Dean had been honorably discharged from the USMC. Dean grew up in a baking family under the direction of Wayne and Emma Byers, who operated Byers Pastries in Columbia, PA. Naomi grew up on the Diffenderfer family farm in Silver Springs, PA. She credits her parents for her work ethic and her strong commitment to her faith.
Diahann Byers-Cascarella is the Bakery’s pastry chef in charge of all wedding cakes. She is the third generation of bakers in the Byers family. She has a reputation for knowledge and great expertise in creating the wedding cake of your dreams. Diahann is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. She is able to create your masterpiece with elaborate gum paste flowers, bows, and fabric flowing from your cake.
